Why Two IP Checkers Sometimes Disagree

Most modern connections are dual-stack, meaning your device has both an IPv4 and an IPv6 address at the same time. Which one a website sees depends on which protocol your device and that site both support for the connection, so it is normal for two different IP tools to display different results, one showing your IPv4 address and another your IPv6 address, without anything being wrong. Separately, many mobile carriers and some residential ISPs place customers behind Carrier-Grade NAT (CGNAT), sharing one public IPv4 address across many customers, typically drawn from the 100.64.0.0/10 shared address space reserved by RFC 6598. If the address shown here does not match your router's own WAN IP setting, CGNAT is almost always the reason, not a fault with either tool.

How This Tool Detects Your IP Address

As soon as the page loads, your browser sends a direct request to a public IP-echo service, which simply reads the source address of the incoming request and returns it as plain text. That returned value, your address as seen from the public internet, is what gets displayed above. This lookup happens entirely client-side in your browser: Toolember's own servers never see or log your IP through this tool.
