How dynamic QR codes work

Instead of encoding your final URL, a dynamic QR code encodes a short redirect link that you control (for example toolember.com/r/aB3xk2Q). When someone scans it, they are forwarded to whatever destination you have set. You can change that destination as often as you like without touching the printed code.

Do I need an account?▾
No. Your codes are tied to your browser through a private edit key stored locally. Anyone can scan a code, but only the browser that created it can change the destination. If you clear your site data you can still scan your codes but will no longer be able to edit them.
Will my QR code stop working if I hit a scan limit?▾
No. Unlike some tools that disable your code once a scan cap is reached, the free plan here has unlimited scans. Your codes keep redirecting as long as they exist.
Can I edit the destination after printing?▾
Yes, that is the whole point of a dynamic QR code. Paste a new URL into the destination field and press Update. The printed code stays the same but now forwards to the new address instantly.
How is scan tracking counted?▾
Each time someone opens the code, the redirect service increments a scan counter for that code. The free plan shows the total scan count. More detailed analytics (device, country, time) are part of the upcoming paid plans.
Can I use dynamic QR codes commercially?▾
Yes. The generated QR image is a standard ISO/IEC 18004 code you can print on packaging, menus, flyers, or signage for personal or commercial use with no restrictions.
